Welcom to the New AQIP Action Project Directory PDF |     Print

We developed our Action Project Directory to encourage institutions participating in AQIP to share openly their innovative improvement efforts and plans. The Directory has become a tool that keeps institutions focused on their self-chosen goals while building collaboration among colleges and universities that might never have discovered their common interests and concerns. It has also broadcast appreciation of how innovative US higher education can be to policy makers and educators around the world.

In the decade since AQIP’s birth, we’ve learned much that we didn’t know in 2000 about quality improvement initiatives and how they evolve, and so it’s about time that AQIP take a giant evolutionary step and bring its Action Project Directory more in line with the needs of the institutions using it. AQIP is celebrating the New Year with the launching of its vastly improved Action Project Directory. The new Directory is easier to use, and will help institutions use their projects more effectively to accomplish their goals — and communicate their changes and improvements to the rest of the academic world. AQIP is sincerely grateful to the hoard of Annual Update reviewers and AQIP liaisons who helped us understand what the old Directory lacked and helped us test the enhancements in the new one.

New Action Project Directory User Comments:

  • "Congratulations (!) to whomever provided the brains and design instincts to the redesign of the Action Project database! I just tinkered around in it and viewed the options, etc. but was instantly able to navigate and understand what was needed. Having a simple interface like that enables me to concentrate on content in lieu of software, and I appreciate and admire the design." Dr. Kate Alley, Associate Provost, Accountability & Assessment, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology

  • "Just a quick note to say that this new interface is fantastic! It will be so much more useful on our end." Steve Robinson, AQIP Liaison, Mott Community College

  • I have used the Directory to complete projects and upload new ones. The text does not have to be saved to plain text, there are more formatting features, especially bulleting, which make for clearer documents and more concise narrative, the appearance of the site and the resulting documents is much more professional, and the site is more intuitive and easier to use. "I especially like the dashboard feature and the ease of navigating my institution's projects." Joan Kuzma Costello, Ph.D., Provost, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Inver Hills Community College

  • "The new directory site looks nice and is much easier to navigate." Dr. Jane Salisbury, Dean of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness, Edison Community College

  • "I’ve just read through the new guidelines and played around with the new APD Web site. First, let me say that the layout is great! It’s much better to be able to view the action project on one tab and the updates and reviews on other tabs. I really like that feature!" Sharon Katterman, Ed.D., Director, Resource Development and Institutional Effectiveness, Moraine Valley Community College
